What does a restaurant specialist do during his apprenticeship?

During the apprenticeship you will learn everything you need to know to provide competent advice and service. The range of tasks includes looking after the guests. This ranges from advising on the selection of menus and beverages to organising banquets and receptions to professional serving (flambéing, filleting, carving, etc.), setting tables and doing the billing. You are therefore both a "mediator" between the guest and the kitchen and a representative of the house to the guest.

Future & career prospects

The career prospects for this profession are excellent. We are happy to offer our apprentices a permanent position with us at the DONAUTURM after their training, depending on their interest and commitment. In addition, the national and international job prospects are very good. There is a high demand for well-trained staff in almost all areas of gastronomy, which means that there are extremely good employment opportunities.

Course of your apprenticeship

Your apprenticeship has a dual structure: alternating between vocational school and the Donauturm training company. At the vocational school you will learn the necessary theoretical background knowledge and at our company you will learn the practical side of the profession of restaurant specialist. The training ends with a final apprenticeship examination, which opens many doors for the graduates.

Apprenticeship remuneration: 1st year € 1,000.- (KV Hotel & Catering Industry)
