Donaubräu guest garden named best beer garden in Austria

The guest garden of the Donaubräu at the foot of the Vienna Danube Tower was awarded yesterday by beer pope Conrad Seidl as the best beer garden 2019.

Last week, beer pope Conrad Seidl presented the 20th edition of his Austrian Beer Guide, in which beer gardens are also presented - the Donaubräu's guest garden is presented in it as the best beer garden in Austria. Yesterday took place in addition in the Casino Linz the official award ceremony, with which Bert Copar, Donauturm managing director, received the honor and was pleased about the praising words of the beer pope. The beer garden of the Donaubräus impresses by its situation at the foot of the Danube tower in the midst of the Danube park and by the contemporary organization, which provides for a singular atmosphere. When you sit there in the middle of the greenery, you get beautifully tapped beer that is drinkable, naturally cloudy and has an unmistakably full-bodied taste," explains beer pope Conrad Seidl. The guest garden at the popular landmark thus prevails among numerous well-known venues in Austria.

"We are very pleased that our guest garden is so well received and that we can bear the title 'Best Beer Garden in Austria' with this award. This is great!", says Bert Copar.

Comfortable staying in the midst of nature

In the warmer seasons, the guest garden located in the greenery is an ideal meeting place for families, friends and also young parents with their children: after a walk in the idyllic Donaupark, the generously designed guest garden offers enough space for up to 430 people, who can choose culinary delights from a diverse selection of Austrian dishes from the Donaucafe and the Donaubräu.

Enjoyment from the first sip: the tower beer

The specially brewed Turmbier, which is served in the Donaubräu, is particularly good to enjoy in the guest garden on warm summer evenings with friends. The tower beer is produced in an Austrian quality brewery especially for the Donaubräu and exclusively.

"The Turmbier is our pride and joy: with a lot of heart and passion, this new beer specialty was created especially for Donaubräu - a pleasure from the first sip," says Copar, describing the new Turmbier, which is carefully brewed according to the strict standards of the Purity Law of 1516 and is available as Pfiff (0.21), Seidel (0.31), Krügerl (0.51), Maß (11) and in the 1.51 jug. As a basis, the brewmasters use Waldviertier Landkorn as well as high-quality aroma hops. The Märzenbier is tapped naturally cloudy to exploit the full aromatic spectrum of flavor notes."
