Exhilarating opening party

More than 500 guests accepted the invitation and admired the extensive modernization in the upper levels of the tower with the best view over the capital.

Since the Danube Tower was opened in 1964 as a highlight of the Vienna International Garden Show (WIG), it has stood as an observation tower for leisure, fun and recreation. With the one-year conversion and expansion work that started at the beginning of 2018, the owners - 55 years later - have brought a breath of fresh air to Austria's highest landmark and duly celebrated the completion with a colorful party.

More than 500 guests accepted the invitation and admired the extensive modernization on the upper levels of the tower with the best view over the capital as well as the newly created gastronomy hot spots Donaucafe and Donaubräu including a guest garden on the first floor. Many well-known faces from TV and film such as TV presenter Clerici, actress Proschat Madani (,,Vorstadtweiber") with husband director Harald Sicheritz and actor Jakob Seeböck (,,SOKO Kitzbühel") celebrated the newly opened, ,,state of the art" modernized Danube Tower.

The who's who of Austria's business community, including City Councilor Peter Hanke, National Council Member Andreas Ottenschläger, WKW Vice President Sepp Bitzinger, Mediaprint Managing Director Thomas Kralinger, Publisher Rainer Nowak, Kurier Marketing Director Barbara Kociper, Manager Heinz Palme, FK Austria Board Chairman Markus Kraetschmer, ORF head of communications Pius Strobl, top manager Rudolf Semrad, as well as celebrities from culture, sports and tourism, including Karl Hohenlohe, zoo director Dagmar Schratter, Österreich Werbung managing director Petra Stolba, museum director Gabriele Zuna-Kratky, cultural manager Daniel Serafin and many more. v.m. were to be seen on this evening and tasted the light, naturally cloudy tower beer, which is poured exclusively in the Donaubräu. The singer Ella Flavin with her band for swinging musical background after the official ribbon cutting and the blessing by cathedral pastor Toni Faber. With a flying dinner, the team of the Donauturm showed the culinary highlights of all four gastronomy concepts of the house. After casual networking, the party continued into the evening hours with the DJ sound of Chris Kristallski.
